Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ve probably heard that there will be a Total Solar Eclipse on Monday.  From coast to coast in the U-S they will experience 100% of the Eclipse while here in Calgary, we will experience approximately 80% of it. Here in YYC the Eclipse will start at 10:23am with the peak hitting at around 11:33am and wrapping up at about 1pm.  There are two viewing events in Calgary…one at Telus Spark & the other through the University of Calgary.  You should never look directly at the sun during an eclipse (BAD for your eyes)….the special viewing glasses are pretty hard to find now in Calgary BUT you can make your own Pinhole Projector and view Monday’s Eclipse that way. Hit up our KiSS Facebook page to learn how to make a Pinhole Projector with Mookie & Lori. The Total Solar Eclipse is a big deal, especially for our friends south of the border, as a matter of fact Bonnie Tyler will even sing her massive 1983 hit ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ during Monday’s Eclipse.  Click here for more on the Bonnie Tyler story!
